We hold Beginners Days at Bozedown Alpacas throughout the year. Why would you wish to attend one of these? At Bozedown Alpacas we have 29 years of experience. Learn the basics of alpaca keeping – feeding and pasture management, fibre and end product, breeding and weaning, handling and head collar training, etc. years of caring breeding experience, unbeaten success in the Show Ring, and are at the forefront of the industry. We have a wealth of knowledge to share, and take pride in our pre and after sales service that is second to none!
On the morning farm walk we cover many topics such as fencing, catch areas, handling systems, pasture management, field shelters, feeding, breeding and weaning.
You will see demonstrations of weighing, body condition scoring, trimming toenails,
tooth care and awareness, correct fitting of head collars, and be able to have some
You will learn about conformation and fibre, fleece shearing and end product, with a demonstration of fibre sorting and grading. Financial aspects covered will include cost, purchase options, VAT and income tax advantages.
Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunities for your questions.
