Bozedown Galaxy - British Alpaca Futurity Champion Huacaya Stud 2006 and 2008
It’s
always a risk when you expose your champion alpaca in another show.
Will he be beaten by a better animal? Well, the legendary Bozedown
Galaxy reconfirmed his position as the UK’s leading Stud male, by
winning the title of British Alpaca Futurity Champion Huacaya Stud in
February 2008, having been awarded the same title at the very first
British Alpaca Futurity in November 2006. It was a nail-biting time, as
there was at least one very highly regarded stud male with as many
progeny as Galaxy entered into the competition. The coloured alpacas
were first in the show ring, and early in the competition Bozedown The
Chief and Bozedown Thunder’s progeny were collecting lots of points.
But then Galaxy’s progeny entered the ring and started collecting
awards, and we started to hope that he might make it!
Bozedown
The Chief’s progeny were awarded 1st Junior grey female,xc and then 2nd
Adult grey female. Then 1st and 2nd Junior grey male and 1st
Intermediate male.
Bozedown Thunder’s progeny were awarded 2nd Junior black female, 1st and 2nd Junior black male.
Then
Bozedown Galaxy jumped in with 2nd Junior brown female and 2nd Junior
fawn female, followed by 1st and 2nd Adult fawn females. He achieved
1st and 3rd in the split Junior white female class, and then 1st
Intermediate white female and 1st Adult white female. Next came a 3rd
Junior white male, 1st and 3rd Intermediate white male, then 1st, 2nd
and 5th Adult white male.
Meanwhile Bozedown Talisman’s
progeny were doing very well, being awarded 1st Intermediate Grey
Female, 3rd Junior black female, 2nd Intermediate black female and 1st
Intermediate fawn male.
The next day, when the colour champions
were judged, Bozedown The Chief’s progeny were awarded both Champion
and Reserve Champion Grey male, Bozedown Commanche and Inca Grey Bounty
along with Champion Grey female, Bozedown Running Cloud. Reserve
Champion black female went to Bozedown Talisman’s daughter , Bozedown
Democrat. Bozedown Thunder’s progeny achieved both Champion and Reserve
Champion black male, Bozedown Oberon II and Bozedown Kazzan.
Bozedown
Galaxy’s daughter became Reserve Champion brown female, Bozedown Maia.
Champion Fawn female Bozedown Sahara was a Galaxy daughter. Galaxy
progeny also achieved both Champion and Reserve Champion white female,
Bozedown Cosmic and Blanace and then Champion white male with Bozedown
Ulysses. All of which made Bozedown Galaxy the clear winner as Futurity
Champion Huacaya Stud, yet another achievement for this legendary Stud
male.
Meanwhile, over on the suri front, Bozedown Nero’s progeny
won 2nd Adult black male. Then Bozedown Dazzler’s progeny appeared, and
his daughter won 1st Junior brown female, followed by 3rd Junior fawn
male and 2nd Adult fawn male, 1st Junior white female and 3rd Adult
white male. Bozedown Caesar's Progeny won 1st Junior white male.
Bozedown Dazzler’s progeny subsequently won Champion brown female and
Champion white female, but was narrowly beaten on points to the
Futurity Champion Suri Stud title. But Bozedown Dazzler had already
established himself as the UK’s no. 1 Suri Stud male in 2006, when he
became the first British Alpaca Futurity Champion Suri Stud.
